I create paintings, drawings, text, and, most recently, sculptures using traditional and non-traditional materials. The choice of materials is essential in my work. My artistic process explores the dynamic interplay between structure and spontaneity. Deriving inspiration from my multicultural heritage and the diverse landscapes of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, and the urban vibrancy of Boston and New York, I engage with themes of liberation on both a personal and universal scale. Repetition and ritual in my practice serve as meditative acts of setting free, while the embrace of chance and chaos mirrors the process of untangling complex societal and environmental knots. Collaborating with artists and scientists on various projects has further enriched my perspective, allowing me to infuse my work with a multidisciplinary approach that seeks to unravel and understand the interconnectedness of our world.
